Academic Qualifications

Degree in Law (1981), Masters in Law (1987) and PhD in Law (2006). Associate Professor of the University of Lisbon's Faculty of Law. Teaches Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure Law, The Law of Evidence and Criminology. Director of the Portuguese Competition Authority's Department of Restrictive Practices. Member of the Management Board of the Institution of Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences (IDPCC). Formerly a teacher at the Military Academy, where he taught Criminal Procedure Law (2006-2009). Former member of the Supervisory Board of the Information Services of the Portuguese Republic (1998-1999). Former member of the Board of the Mission Unit for Criminal Reform (2005-2007). Former jurist at the Securities Commission (1998-2006).
